Workshop responsibilities
Assess the work before beginning. Follow tool and material manufacturers’ instructions, use appropriate protective equipment, control dust and fumes, and secure work properly. Cutting, drilling, adhesives, coatings and small parts involve different risks. Children require capable adult supervision appropriate to the activity. Marbles and loose small parts are choking hazards.
The projects are not certified toys and are not represented as meeting toy-safety, structural or security standards. You are responsible for assessing any applicable requirements before giving away, selling or otherwise supplying a finished object.
Not security devices
Concealed catches and puzzle compartments described here are demonstrations of movement and sequence. They are not suitable for protecting valuables, medicines, hazardous materials or anything requiring controlled access. Never create a compartment that a person or animal could enter. Retain a safe recovery route while testing.

You may read the site and use its general instructional ideas for personal learning. Copyright in original site text and presentation is reserved unless a separate licence is stated. Permission may be required to reproduce substantial text, images or other protected material. Statutory exceptions remain unaffected.
